Description A Ashar raiding party has had a good day and captured a number of Khet. Time to march them off to captivity and divide the plunder!

For those who are interested, here are some notes on the Ashar raiders:

"Ashar raiding parties have often been likened to land-pirates. Like pirates of yore, the Ashar raiders all sign up to an article of agreement. This sets out the voting methods, codes of conduct, punishments for violations, distribution of pay, compensation for injuries, etc.

While each raiding enterprise is a little different, in general there are two elected officers: the captain and the quartermaster. The captain is not the boss, and serves at the pleasure of the company who can replace him with a majority vote if they are unhappy with his strategic decisions. There is no term length, with the sole exception of battle. The battlefield is no place for democracy.

The quartermaster is responsible for the men, their quarters, rations, their agreed upon privileges, the training of new recruits, and punishments for contract violations.

Ashar raiders don't get wages, but instead give a share of the profits. The captain gets two shares for his strategic decisions, the quartermaster one and a half for his labours, the medic and combat engineer (if present)one and one quarter, and "private gentlemen/women of fortune" one share.

Tactics

Ashar raiding companies generally consist of melee fighters who use padded armour, shields of various designs, and shock batons and swords. While these melee specialists only receive one share of the profit, they are compensated by being allowed to pillage from the captives they take and being first in line to receive captured Khet as slaves.

Those not suited for melee are equipped with firearms of various sorts. Their job is to 'weed out' the 'less intelligent' Khet (who don't fall to the ground immediately when ordered to or when fired upon) and to 'fix' the Khet in place with gunfire so they can't flee.

Once the Khet have ceased resistance, any badly wounded Khet are finished off. Both as an act of mercy, and to fuel the narrative that those who resist face certain death while those who submit will be spared. After this mopping up process the Khets are restrained and fitted with shock collars and taken into captivity. There they are 'rewired' to allow them to be given direct orders and sold into captivity or kept as part of the share awarded to the raiders."
