Description
ink and watercolor on paperHere's a little map I made back in November as part of Mapvember.
It was about half of an A4 page, maybe 2/3rds.
I inked the pencil line work and then did the color with colored india inks and a bit of watercolor here and there.
The colors are a bit brighter than I had intended them to be.
The india inks are quite vivid and it was my first time using them.
All in all, it was a fun learning experience.
I will definitely be doing it again.

I like traditional, but it is more demanding.

I know what you are talking about. The feeling that this one extra thing would look great and the fear to screw it up completely when it already looks "OK".
However, when I left behind computer coloring recently, I found that I now think a lot more about what I am doing. Plus, I it feels a lot less like work-work when I do not sit in front of a screen.

Yes. I have some sketched out.
As far as traditional color [ink/watercolor], I'd like to.
Digital color is easier and faster though.
But, of course, that's partly due to experience with digital and less with traditional.
We will see on the color.

The bright colors sure give it a cheerful feeling! I'm certain the residents of this hamlet get together every Saturday to sing a song about how lovely their hometown is. Y'know, Disney style

I love your maps! if this turned out brighter than you like, you can always desaturate the color now you have it scanned in. I always look forward to seeing your new maps!
