What is the measure of a man? The size of his chest, or something else? This particular man is unmatched in the world by anyone else. He treats his body as a temple but not for the obvious reasons but because he is in fact dying. It is said that a 'person starts to die the minute he is born'. This is true. One day, everyone you know will stop breathing, turn cold and die. This subject just happens to be dying on a faster scale than what would be considered normal. His love of life is unparalleled to anyone I've ever met. Being alive for most of is all too often taken for granted, but not by this person. To wake up each day and strive to live that day as if it's your last....what a powerful gift that must me. When he told me of the tumor growing inside his body, I was saddened to understand what it meant to him as person. What kind of person would you be if you were told your days were numbered? Would you treat people different? Would you love deeper? Would you forgive easier? I can't imagine how it must be for this subject. Living each day knowing the last one is coming soon. How beautiful life must be..I can't imagine.
