Well here goes!! Mine entry for the 60th Annual Hunger Games OCT! [link] Any critiques anyone has to offer would be wonderful, it has been a while since I've attempted to flesh out a character so much.

I'm terrible with weight so if anyone thinks those numbers look wonky let me know! Aiming for underweight and malnourished mind.

Name: Whip Marchwalker. Would be just like his Mother to name him after something everyone in District 11 loathes.

Age: 14

District: 11
(preferably at least, but if not perhaps Districts 8 or 10, any of the more impoverished Districts)

Health issues: Mild arthritis which can make fiddly tasks a bit of a pain sometimes and makes his joints ache. Malnourished and underweight for his size. Suffers from migraines which are somewhat debilitating.

Body type: Tall, thin and lanky. Has gigantism, as a result of which makes him incredibly tall with large hands and feet.

Eye Colour: Grey with flecks of hazel.

Hair Colour: Brown, very curly.

Strength:
-Stamina. Whilst Whip is not very strong, long days of tending crops and various other tasks have given him good stamina.
-Not especially speedy, but his long legs do let him cover ground more quickly than others.
-Very patient, despite pain of arthritis he could stay still for hours without fidgeting,
-Not a complete stranger to pain, has been whipped his fair share as well. It’s somewhat unavoidable when you live in a starving district such as 11. So in theory he should be able to handle pain quite well in the Hunger Games.
-A lifetime of keeping quiet and observing has made him fairly good at predicting people's actions.

Vulnerability/ies:
-His migraine attacks aren’t too common however they are incredibly debilitating when he gets them. When one of his migraines is in full swing it is incredibly difficult for him to see and concentrate. Sometimes the pain has been so great that he has been reduced to vomiting up from the pressure. Finds it very difficult to move or do anything when this happens.
-His height. Whilst an asset in some ways, it's very difficult to hide all those awkward limbs of his. So even in his usual hunched posture, he sticks out quite easily.
-Malnourished so rather weak, though even if he was at full strength he would still be somewhat frail.
-Very easy to cry, loathe to confrontation, even when it will mean his life.

Family:
Elder brother - Seb, 18 years old. Whip and Seb are very close and generally keep an eye out for each other.
Mother and Father - Not especially close to either of them. His father sits back and refuses to be involved. Unbeknownst to Whip, his mum was extremely careful to not have children after Seb, as they were struggling to feed themselves. However despite precautions she fell pregnant and suffered severe post-natal depression, which she never seemed to fully recover from. After that her attitude towards Whip ranges from indifference to resentment, even more so when Whip hit puberty and he began growing alarmingly fast.
Aunt - Orcha, his mother’s sister. Whip is much closer to his aunt Orcha than his mother. Orcha essentially took over raising Whip when her sister fell into depression.

Significant other: None really. Well, he felt butterflies in his stomach whenever Daffyd was about, but has never acted on it. Nor will he get a chance to now.

Personality: Quiet, shy, and somewhat self conscious. However he enjoys helping people and has a kind disposition. He is overly polite in his speech and actions, perhaps to overcompensate how alarmed some people are at his presence. He rarely talks except to his brother or aunt, and even then if he can get away with short sentences he will. Needs badgering to elaborate on anything..

Token: Small woven doll from his brother. Usually lives in a pocket.
