First image of 2018 and it's Brandt once a friggin 'gainLook at all the fucks I give, but at least this picture looks pretty pffff
Joking aside, I did this on a whim while I remembered an amazing picture ~ Myth-Keeper made that sparked my idea to make this weird image.
If you haven't noticed, I have a new shading style for the game that I absolutely LOVE to death and it's so relaxing to use ;w;
You can't tell all that much from this picture, but I'll show it off in a later one.
The reason I keep drawing only Brandt in these pictures is because most of these are important to only him. But don't worry, there are other characters I wish to show. This one however, is from a location I feel needs some more variety and it's called the Faydle Jungle.
And before you ask, yes, it's a pun on the word "Fatal".
This jungle is pretty much a forest of death, but it is hiding other properties that is making it more than just a regular rainforest. It has an alternate dimension that houses strange entities and otherworldly symbols and creatures that, to us, look like constellations or stars.
This other dimension is also known to distort perspectives and even entire areas, which is why the tree in the background is not proportionate to Brandt's size; It's tiny on purpose. As for the wildlife, the moths flying here are on our plane of existence as the surroundings are normal in their point of view while Brandt is essentially on BOTH planes of existence trying to find his way out.
If someone ends up in this dimension and does not know the proper way of exiting it, they will be lost forever and eventually die from starvation and thirst after a certain time of the year passes where the air becomes absolutely humid and unforgiving. In other words, you're basically trapped within an intense greenhouse. This is a part of the story that I feel can only be accessed once Brandt's backstory is shown later in the game. Otherwise, there would be no real reason for him to come back to it later in the present part of the story.
Like it or not, I legitimately like how this came out overall~! It has a strange otherworldly feel to it and everything doesn't look as though it meshes well with Brandt who is a complete shape unlike his surroundings that distort and fade out for no reason.
Also the sky is lines.
Güneş "Himura Brandton" ~

I really like these ideas of yours. I especially like the perspective distortion one- I immediately imagined one of my characters standing next to a tree half thier size.
Also, what kind of game was Gunes going to be again? Side-Scrolling Platformer?

Thanks ^^
I figured it would be an interesting change of pace
and would justify a moment in Brandt's backstory a bit better -w-
It is an Action RPG Platformer :3

Awesome! I love the idea. Do you have the concept of where this forest came from? Is it natural or man made?
To be honest, I didn't notice the tree was small until you mentioned it. I assumed it was in perspective. XD
... I wonder if those fireflies are more sinister than they appear? >8D

I kind of do, but basically the forest is natural and has stayed this way for centuries.
No mortal person knows where it came from and has never lived to tell the tale of this dimension's existence.
It was created by a god as it was most likely supposed to house spiritual entities that controlled the life around the jungle.
But it's vacant and overrun by independent flora and fauna.
...
Brandt being in this dimension is canon, but that's all I'm really going to mention bc it's spoiler territory pfff
As for the moths, that's explained in the description also |'D

Nuu, I don't believe you. Moths have dark agendas. O___0
Hm, but it is interesting that the animals don't seem affected by the dimensional shift. Maybe its their lack of sentience?

They haven't entered into the area that holds a door to this dimension and it's very rare for one to do so unless they know where to look, which nobody has lived to tell the tale. Brandt is on both planes due to crossing into this "door". You can see him, but on our plane, he looks like a ghost running around.

Ah, I see. It reminds me of Metroid Prime Echoes.
