And here we have a character who has gotten a COMPLETE species and name change

He was a orange and yellow hedgehog.... thing with a long fluffy tail that acts like an inhibitor
He also has a black jacket and shoes that are similar to shadow's, but are basically Sonic's shoes lol
With the usual red eyes and whatnot.... and he was Shadow's brother... creation-wise he came before
and was locked in a room since he was seen as defective and well.... he escaped after what happened
with Shadow and Maria, they eventually meet each other on Earth, etc., etc. basically the fucking stupid
kind of story that should not happen...
L2K is a name I got when playing Sonic Adventure in the Casino area
I thought it sounded cool, so I gave it to him at the time...
I also had a story that was called L2K Sonic X, which.... sounds obviously like one of those Sonic X
screenshot slideshow kind of "stories", but I was young what can ya do?
I was imaginative..... in all the wrong ways lmao
But then I played Smash Bros Brawl and called him Lucario after Lucario.... |D
You can all shoot me now rofl

But anyways, I made it so his backstory actually makes sense and is in line with the timeline
of Gerald Robotnik's career as a scientist working to solve the life long theory of immortality

While it is known that the earliest known attempt at Project Shadow was the Biolizard
Prof. Gerald and his crew continued to find more solutions to their research of immortality
They experimented with more lizards and somehow found a way to make the desired body shape
for the project to work out in the end. It was small and humanoid like, but still looked like a lizard
They used a frilled dragon to attempt this and for the most part it was successful...
For fun, Maria created the design for the shoes to be red, white, and black as the crew went ahead
and designed the finalized version for this creature....
The rings on the gloves and shoes were implimented to be an early prototype of inhibitors, but at the time
Gerald didn't know what real function they had, but Maria wanted Gerald to put them on the creature anyway
since they looked nice for his appearance...

Maria grew attached to this lizard man, but it didn't last very long as L-251K began growing unstable
While the creation of him was successful, his body was not able to survive for very long so they
reconstructed him with tubes implanted into his body like the Biolizard...
Communication was limited and the creature didn't seem too smart, nor did it understand human language
Even when Maria spent her time with the now dubbed L2K, he couldn't convey full sentences
and was only able to say words such as the names of the scientists and even Maria herself
Other words were, "Space", "Gather", "Lizard", "Home", "Earth", and "Shadow"

Despite having the tubes implanted into his body, it only gave him a few more days to stay docile
They would have to be changed every week or so to keep him at a submissive state otherwise
he would lose control and attack the crewmembers onboard aimlessly

Gerald felt that this would prove to be difficult and frustrating as the problems were the same
with the biolizard many years ago. He then tells Maria that L2K will not be able to survive for too long
as this was yet another failed attempt at the project.

Maria understood and stayed optimistic saying that she knows that he will find a way. This kept the old man
in high spirits as he went back to his plans again. Around this time is when L2K undergoes a meltdown.
His body becomes too unstable and starts deteriorating, but not without causing a whole lot of damage
to the ARK itself. Maria was in danger at this point, which made Gerald had no choice but to end L2K's life
by snatching the tubes from his back and chest, the very thing that kept him alive for this long...
When he did that, L2K died instantly with his body still breaking up.
Maria was horrified by the news Gerald gave her and wept for the death of her friend.
Gerald then promised her that the next attempt will not fail, saying that it will be the final attempt at Project Shadow
A few years of research later.... a floating asteroid appeared on the horizon above Earth....
Gerald notices this and suddenly came to the conclusion that.... his final attempt might pay off this time...
