Well lookie here...
A morning drawing of two individual characters for the Fabled Ocarina of Time Doujinshi / Manga...
I went back and did Young Link without a reference.. and he's lookin pretty good even though I was barely even awake at the time..
Somethin' just told me "Just do the damn image already" So I did it lol

As for Navi... OOOooooh how I had many ideas for her...

Okay not really but.. there were two in mind.. :F
The one in those older pages I did for the manga and a fairy that seemed to have been the best choice of inspiration from A Link to the Past in my Hyrule Historia copy that I happened to glance over when I was looking in it o3o

The fairy was adorable as hell (i'm not going to lie)
And so I used it as a fit of inspiration
Though if you think about it Navi was originally going to have a model in-game and in concept art.. buuuuut that was scrapped early in development.. at least when they finalized the story and such.
I thought the fairy design was kind of interesting.. but the ball shape on her shoulder kinda made me feel as if they were trying to make her somewhat of a princess with her attire.. so.. I went with a more rugged look.
Her hair is also different from the fairy from ALTTP because of the way I made it
It is noticably more spiky and tomboyish than the other fairy and has a light tinted purpleish-pink to it to reference the fact that she is always surrounded by light, which is also why her clothing is purpleish blue :3

Now... here is an explanation that I wanted for Navi when I make this story start rolling... It might be a little long.. but I want you to hear me out on this one..

In "The Fabled Ocarina of Time", I wanted Navi to be somewhat like a mother character to Link. They never really establish how old Navi is, which I think is understandable since she's not really a major character in the story to begin with and is pretty much the fuel to make Link continue on his journey.
I feel that Navi might be at the age of possibly 11-13 years old... not much older than Link who is 10 years old.
Despite her age, she possesses a lot of knowledge because she listens to the Deku Tree whenever he explains the outside world to the children and fairies, sometimes she would be the only one left to still listen to him when nobody else is around.
Though it doesn't explain why she was chosen by the Great Deku Tree to aid Link in his quest.. it's possible that she might've been the most loyal to the Deku Tree when all the others were probably loyal but ignorant about the landscape around them, knowing that the tree was there to protect them.
Or hell maybe she could be a leader of the fairies.. who knows?
I'm just going by my outlook on her since she has NO backstory at all in the game..
And there really isn't any character interaction with her either other than her moments to speak to Link when it's apparent for the storyline or gameplay.
In my story, she has a lot of impact on Link because of the actions she makes. There is even one point in the story where she would question why Link has to go through all of this crazyness, acknowledging that he might get hurt or worse..
She uninvertedly cares for Link and would scold him if he did something stupid or reckless. But even with all of that... she's just as naive as he is when it comes to the outside world and what horrors that would await them there.

It is said that Navi actually likes Link as a love interest.. which I suppose makes sense since they ARE traveling together... She gets noticably jealous whenever the other females are nipping at his toes.. (well not really.. but... dat vivid imagination lmao)
So yeah... that's all I got for this.. I am actually VERY comfortable about making this manga now and is in the process of continuing the pages.. whenever they will appear lol
