More Star Wars OC stuff, and even after the defeat of the Galactic Empire and the formation of the New Republic, Quinn Shara's journey continues, however tragedy looms upon the horizon in the form of the fearsome Yuuzhan Vong...

Yup, Quinn's story runs parallel to the SW EU, which itself is now technically an AU, so Quinn's story is an AU of an AU EU, and my AU also has an IRL AU of it's own, I know, I'm confused too. XD

A-anyway, to the story at hand, by the time of the Yuuzhan Vong invasion Quinn has become a Jedi Master, and both Orchid and the redeemed Kiri are her apprentices, during the war they endure a fighting retreat, trying to delay the unstoppable advance of the Yuuzhan invasion forces, all while assisting in the evacuation of refugees trapped beyond enemy lines, they're also assisted by Zai who uses his YT-2400 Daydream to run munitions to the besieged Republic forces, however the tide of war can only be held off for so long, and whilst she had lost friends during the Rebellion's struggle against the Empire, not since her childhood had Quinn lost anyone really close to her heart...

During a desperate evacuation an advanced invasion fleet ambushed Quinn and her friends, Orchid was hospitalized on a medical ship and Quinn was infected by a Vong Force parasite, severely weakening her connection to the Force, although she was skilled with a Lightsaber she was still outclassed by her attackers, and she lost her left arm, however... Her former rival, now redeemed apprentice, Kiri Starchaser, saved Quinn from the killing blow, forcing her onto the last evacuation craft, Kiri stayed behind to hold off the advancing forces on her own... Kiri's death tore Quinn apart, the pain amplified as Kiri was once a Dark Jedi, a servant of Palpatine, Quinn had battled her countless times, finally freeing her from darkness, and training her to be a true Jedi, Quinn was so proud of Kiri, her death left Quinn heartbroken, but this wouldn't be the last sacrifice.

As the enemy's advanced fleet closed in Zai was tasked with running a shipment of warheads (designed originally to destroy meteorites that threatened to strike colonized worlds) to the front lines, information on the advanced fleet's position was miscalculated however and he jumped right into their path, before he could react the Daydream was hit by a merciless barrage, crippling it's hyperdrive, and denying any possibility of escape, at that moment Zai turned his ship around, charged straight into the center of the enemy fleet, and detonated the warheads himself, giving his life to halt their advance.

After Zai's sacrifice Quinn decided against a retreat, instead requisitioning the Super Star Destroyer Goldsaber, like a dagger she plunged it into the heart of the wounded enemy fleet, and with the help of both New Republic and Imperial Remnant forces managed to finish off the advanced fleet. On board the Yuuzhan Vong capital ship she discovered the preserved body of Kiri Starchaser, along with her Lightsaber, Quinn took her body back to the Jedi Praxium for a proper Jedi funeral ceremony, and would carry Kiri's Lightsaber with her until the end of her own life.

This makes me quite sad, I love my OC's, I hate writing their deaths... But eh, thems the breaks, huh. ;_;
These characters are all my OC's, they're: top left is Kiri Starchaser, center is Quinn Shara, top right is Orchid Shara (adoptive name), lower left is Merek Zai, and lower right is an as of yet unnamed Yuuzhan Vong OC.

Apart from the bland background I'm quite happy this how this looks, Quinn's eyes are all red cuz' she's been crying. I like older Orchid's design, particularly her hair at the back. Heheheh, Zai's old, his hair is graying. XD
