By no means am I -amazing- at it, but I can do enough. I grew up leaning Java - and then trying to use US was blooody difficult - mainly because it feels and looks like a mix of C++ and Java, only there are teeeeny differences!

I was working on an FPS game with some mates, but we couldn't get along or decide on designs, or this, or that and euuugh so we just abandoned it and I baleeted all my files because I was butthurt!

But it's a great language, stick with it. I find that learning from books is easier than learning from the net - and you will find books on Java, C and C++ lying around all over the place in like every (DECENT) bookshop.

They're SO similar that it'll really help and then you have an applicable kill for later in life 8D!


PS: I'll marry you if you post 100 pictures a day so I have something nice to look at while I sit at home on my arse being bored! /thumbsup

how can you be bored when you know unrealscript! XD
i think US book is due to come out soon so i'll try that one..now i dont have time for it anyway..and i guess its not the kind of book you can read in the park lol...

i thought Kismet would be enough for my needs but no, they made a lot of cool stuff just for the mobile games; like setting up your character, simple weapon and stuff.
oh, getting along on design or anything is a miracle, i cant even get along with myself..so many choices, ways..

Preeeetty much. They wanted to make an online multiplayer game and wanted me to somehow make that happen with UDK. I can't work miracles, haha!

We worked really hard on it, it's a shame it got abandoned. The dumbest thing was, we were all given a character to design and a chapter/level to design/write - and then none of the designs matched up and we argued relentlessly over who's 'theme' we'd go for and ugh! Oh god!

Working alone seems to be the best choice haha!

hahah, i understand completely, you should have started with something simpler (cpt Obvious)..i wanted to make an rpg still do, but first i'll try to make a very simple game to see how it goes. of course i ran into trouble as soon as i needed to modify the weapon blah blah. not to mention my horrible mood swings; now i want to do sci-fi stuff and sometimes cartoony stuff...

I don't think we posted any of the screencaps online (because I'm a horrible 3d artist! and we just wanted to test out my script before we lured a 3d artist into it), and we didn't update it after agessss! But we had a sort of sci-fi fps thing going on. Some of the concept art is still up there, though.
