good stuff, but....
the lips are wonky! they've been mooshed too far right! the little peak on the upper lip shouldn't be directly under the wing of the nostril (cant remember the actual names of anatomy) - if you draw a strait line down from the centre of the nostril, that's where you'll find approximately the right spot for the peak of the upper lip. the and the corner of the lips should usually be directly under the pupil - i think this goes for front and 3/4 view. slide one step to the left sister.
i really dig the flowers in her hair - they look all 3d and soft and mooshy with almost no shading - nothin but line. tres cool.

As said, the angle of the head doesn't match that of the neck...but really, I'm not sure if I'd like it better if it was "fixed" or not. The strangeness of the two different images does something with my eyes, adds a hint of the bizarre that it wouldn't otherwise have for me. Again, me looking into things that may or may not be there, it seems like she's being choked, or the dress is being forced upon her. The expression on her face (great lips, by the way, those in particular struck me) only adds to this.

It definitely retains the strange wondering quality that seems present in most of your work, that makes (at least my imagination) go a little bit. Very nice.

Well I was going to wait until I had one of those moments when I knew I could reply perfectly to such an awesome comment but my brainmeats haven't been co operating so instead i'll just reply on my work lunch break.

Thank you very much, I really like the imagery you bring up and I'm glad someone saw something interesting in it. I'm also very pleased that my pieces have a strange, wondering quality (it's hard to tell how other people react to them - i'm glad the nostalgic feeling i'm trying to convey comes through), especially when they let people's "imagination's go" ^^. Thank you very much!

Wow! This is wonderful!! I'm really starting to get a taste for your loose, sketchy linework. Your sense of costume design is a credit to you. One thing: The angle of her head and the angle of the neck of her garment don't seem to concur. It seems to my eyes that to have the neck of the dress at this angle, we would see the underside of her chin and jawline and in turn more of the underside of her nose etc. Independently, I absolutely love the face and the dress - I think they are both very skillfully executed! You should be proud of this one.

Phill pointed that out too. At this point I'm not sure I want to redraw the neckline or the neck corset. My current excuse is that she's turning her head away from the viewer because if she were doing that the garment wouldn't be following her jaw line. Two people bringing it up is cause to move it though .. well we'll see how I feel about it What do you think? Passable as a 'turning her head' or should I bite the bullet and move the neck corset around?
Compliments and advice always appreciated, so thanks again

If it were me, I would probably go to the laborious lengths of lightboxing the whole thing and experimenting with the angle. That way you can keep your original intact in case you end up not liking the alteration. As you said though, it's just advice - it's your picture and you should trust your intuition. Have fun, above all! If you think it's a worthwhile exercise, go for it. As it stands it's still a beautiful image.
