Recently I left a whole bunch of groups I didn't care about anymore. But I wasn't aware that I had to unwatch them, too. So I did. And yet I still get loads of art from those groups?* Later I found out that you have to go into your 'Friends' settings and remove each group from it. Your 'Friends' list is at the top right corner of dA at all times, I believe.

Even though I left this one group and unwatched them, I still got artwork from the group.

I later found out you actually have to go into your 'Friends' list, and manually delete the group to stop getting art from them. Ugh.

No, if you want to stop getting their messages, you need to go under your friends list, hit the button that says manage friends and then look for the groups in your list and remove them as friends. Even if you unwatch a group, you'll still get their messages in your inbox.

Did you remember to press the 'Save' button after you removed the groups
If so, you may want to report it as a bug to the help desk

When you go to manage friends there will be two buttons at the bottom that say 'Save' and 'Cancel', you click on 'Save' to save any changes made to your list. It also kinda seems to only allow you to change one page at a time, or at least, that's what it is doing for me
Or, maybe you're going directly to the page and un-watching, so it may be a bug

lol, that's why I always unwatch them when I leave the group
What's more pathetic is when you leave a group and then the owner sends you a message asking why you leave. It's almost like they're paranoid about losing members
