oh wow.... this is ancient german... myself cannot read this completely, but I can make out few lines...

Left:
1: Du (Cannot read the remainder) = You
2: Wenn dich auch tadelt mancher Mann = Even if some man rebukes you
3: Der muss noch kommen auf die Welt = He still has to be born into the world
4: Der tut, was jedermann gefällt = Who does which everyone likes

Right:
1: Nicht allzu glänzend sieht es aus = It looks not all that good ("glänzend" means shiny, gleaming, sparkling and so on, but I think it means in the for the purpose of a "shiny future" or a "shiny present age", so for the purpose of the "good future/present age").
2: Doch alt ehrwürdig ist das Haus = But time-honoured is this house
3: Es sah viel Kampf (? dont know) und Drang = It saw a lots of fight, (?) and compulsion
4: Zum (I'm not sure, but I think so) wechselvollen Zeitengang = To the changeful (dont' know, maybe it's "Seitengang" = "lateral movement" and not "Zeitengang" -> there is no translation for this)

I can't make out much of the 1st line on the left either, nor am I great at old German and its spellings, but I hope this helps you and skarzynscy :

"Du recht steh(?) [unreadable] [unreadable] dich nicht dran(?)" = You justly stand {untranslated} {untranslated} yourself, not thereon (I went with "justly" as a translation for "recht," [right, law, justice, can be used as an intensifier] because that seems to fit the context here)

Also, I think the final word on right line 4 is "Zeitengang" which I would roughly translate to the passage of time, going from its roots (Zeit [time] + Gang [from "gehen," to go, to walk])
