As you've guessed by the title, I'm going to talk about the robots in CL and how they work. Robots aren't seen much in Pokemon comics, so I figured I should try to explain how they function in the world! So how about we jump right into it?

There used to be several robots in CL: Mecha, Beta, Delta, Bolt, Z, and Alpha-1. However, only Mecha matters and is mentioned by name in CL's reboot. The creator of these robots is a Lucario named Crystal.

Mecha has the appearance of a Zeraora, except its fur is silvery gray. Its longer "fur" is synthetic(fake) and is made out of a material similar to that of a plush's fur. The lighter gray areas have no fur whatsoever and are thick steel plates that protect Mecha's wiring inside. The metallic plates are also under its "fur". The "fur" is mainly for decoration.(Crystal wants her creations to look nice!)

Its eyes are black-colored screens with bright blue pupils and small cameras hidden behind them. The pupils move around its eyes as the cameras move to look around. The cameras can switch between normal, night, and infrared vision, and the pupils can brighten significantly to serve as a kind of flashlight.

Deep within the center of Mecha's torso is its core, which contains a piece of the Omega stone. The stone is incredibly powerful, and even a mere shard of it is easily capable of powering such a complex machine. Tons of wires are connected to the core and send power all throughout Mecha.

Given how complicated of a machine Mecha is, it can overheat quickly. Overheating is something in real computers and robots too-- have you ever noticed your computer or laptop get warm when it's working hard? I know mine does, and sometimes it even has to turn on its fan to cool down. If a computer overheats it can break and stop working. Same with Mecha, if it got too hot, it would stop functioning properly.
But this is where its cooling system comes in. Mecha has tubes filled with glowing-blue water that run through it and prevent any part of it from getting too hot. The water is in turn cooled down by several fans, and then the cool water flows back through Mecha, stabilizing its temperature. The water is glowing blue to make it easier for Crystal to tell what part of Mecha to repair if it gets damaged. (In real life, there are computers that are cooled with a water system like the one I described here.)
Another way Mecha can cool down is by "breathing" in deeply to let cool air run over its internal wires and assist in maintaining its temperature. Getting too warm can also cause Mecha to be unable to think and calculate properly, so if it's in the middle of a battle, or is in a stressful situation, it might start breathing heavily and the fans inside it will emit a loud whirring noise. There are vents in the back of its mouth that close when they sense there's water nearby so no moisture gets into the wiring, but the vents open when Mecha is completely dry, and when it needs to "breathe".
Instead of a heartbeat, Mecha makes a soft whirring sound caused by the fans around its core that are constantly working to keep it cool. Something to keep in mind is that the cooling system does not make Mecha cold or cool, it only keeps it from being too hot. Thus, it's fur and metal plates are actually fairly warm.

Mecha also has a titanium skeleton to keep its shape and provide a hardy structure for itself. Attached to this skeleton are teeth and claws made of tungsten, which are perfect for tearing through the armor of other robots and anything else in it's path.
One last note on Mecha is that its irises can change in color depending on its emotions(red=anger, blue=sadness, purple=fear, ect.).

There are several other aspects of Mecha that I won't write about here, since they're mysteries you'll discover when CL's reboot comes out!

Try to remember that Mecha, CL, and the robotics in it are all fiction, and by nature, not realistic. I tried to make Mecha fairly realistic and at least semi-believable in how it works, but I'm also not an expert on robotics so don't expect this to make sense in the real world. Plus, there is plenty of magic, or at least magic-like concepts in Pokemon, which also can contribute to how certain things work in that world.
