Description
In my recent road trip to Brighton [link] we were taking long exposures by the seafront. We all got so lost in our own worlds looking through the lens that we were totaly unaware of what was goin on around us untill we had finished shooting and returned to the real world. I managed to capture this shot of one of my photography student mates as he sat on a traffic island in the middle of the road shooting passing traffic totaly ablivious to the fact that I was taking his photo.----------------------

i like it..not only because i like to get lost sometimes, just like not to be aware of the world arround me...and i don't mind the red line, i see it like the evidence of the world arround moving in spite of the subject not being aware of it...i like it a lot...

thanks for your interpretation, yeah i agree with you about the red light and it showing the world around hims there. I had another version almost identical and it didnt have the red light trail but I chose this one for that reason

Ah yes, getting lost down the lens. That's happened once or twice...
Nice shot anyway, not too sure about the red line from one of the cars passing though.

I like it (as in, the whole comp, colour, the description). Shame that the guy is quite small and doesn't 'stand' out as much. I've no idea what I'm typing now - it's what you get for surfing dA at 1.30am... grrr.

Why is there a red line in the middle of it??
I like it, but i wish you could make the subject out a tad more -- the photograph just is really busy so you can't tell exactly what it is that you are taking a photo of...

The red line is traffic passing on the other side of the road. I like the fact you have to search for the subject and you only get the silluette, it means it could be any photographer, or anyone although I see what you mean about it possibly being a bit cluttered and too much to concentrate on. Thanks for your thoughts/critique Bee

Well there is a green light, and I like speed. Then I guess that I would rather crash than get lost into photography

this photo on first look makes me think "GO!"...you know because of the green light. After reading the description, though, it makes me think about how easy it really is to get lost in any type of lense (camera, microscope, telescope). Why do you think it's so easy for us to block everything out? I guess our concious is very tied to what we can see.

yeah, we all do it. Some people do it by reading a book, watching a soap opera, playing sport.. but we all love to escape into our own little world every now and again and put eveything else out of our mind. It feels like that for me every time I get realy involved in a shoot and my best work comes when do block out everything around me. Hopefully alot of people can relate to this shot.
Thanks alot for the thoughtful comment
