Your tokota must be depicted embracing life and stopping to ‘smell the roses,’ so to speak; an exercise in being aware of what is around them, whether it be something as simple as enjoying the scenery or watching a bird’s egg hatch. They do not need only to be wise and gentle, but grateful and respectful of the natural world.

The travel through The Superiors was wonderful this time of year. Heading out on this great journey was scary to say the least, but he wouldn't go through it with anyone else but his best friend. Petting the merle's head as they made it to the base of the meadow, honestly the view was breath taking. Daavi dismounted from Kale's back, his feet settling onto the soft grass, trying his best not to step on any of the precious flowers but... Kale still eager and full of energy, once his handler was off his back, immediately went to roll on his back and onto the flowers beneath him.

Just standing here, taking in the sights of the indigo mountains, as the colorful trees highlighted the blossoming native flowers scattered along the meadow... It reminded him of home. The first time that he finally got puppy Kale into his ownership and most of all struggling to keep him in his arms. It was Spring, and one of the first things he did with Kale was take him to the meadow of flowers that had just bloomed. Of course, puppy Kale eagerly ran around, rolling around in the newly bloomed flowers and much to his puppy instincts, even tried to eat the colorful plants.

Daavi honestly couldn't believe how far the two of them have gotten, it was almost a year ago that he recalled trying to kill himself. Stuck in an alcoholic haze for almost three years, with no one but his Tokota by his side... It was such an awful and grim time, he remembered writing up a note that once he killed himself, ownership of Kale would go to his close friend Aputi. He couldn't help but tear up reflecting on his previous state of mind, he felt so hopeless, that he was letting Kale down as a handler and a friend... Even then, Kale helped him get through that, Kale was there as his absolute worst. Daavi hoped that at least now, he was finally at his best?

He was completely taken out of his thoughts when Kale leaned up, grabbing Daavi by his coat and pulled him onto the soft flowerbed below him. A yelp in shock escaped his lips despite the fall being softened. Even then, Kale sniffed Daavi's head in worry to make sure his handler was alright. Daavi gave out as a laugh, petting his head to let him know everything was alright.

"I'm glad to be with you Kale..." He spoke, laying down on the merle's chest, stroking the fur from his mane. He could feel Kale relax from the wonderful pets, stretching out more for Daavi to get just the right spots.

"If you asked me years ago where I would be in the future, I would of said hopefully dead but..." Once again, he couldn't help but tear up at the gruesome thought but continued on. "I never thought I'd join another tribe, meet so many new people and... See you grow. I'm glad I continued to live."

It was great to feel at peace, Daavi thought, nuzzling into Kale.

AFTER SOOOOO LONG OF BEING CONFIRMED FOR DOM, I'VE COMPLETED KALE'S RODS Q__Q

I'm so sorry babyyy, I was such a huge perfectionist when it came to these and admittedly struggled through numerous episodes of self doubt while working on them. And it seemed like each time I had a perfect opportunity to work on them I was either overwhelmed or had more timely matters at hand such as the Summer Event or Tokoween that took my attention.

NOW ITS FINALLY HERE!!

A huge thank you to my friends for helping me through all of this, despite seeing numerous WIPs and time and time again all these pics placed on the back burner, they encouraged me nonetheless!!

And to hear they even nominated Kale for Toko of the Month?? Gosh that had me in tears Q__Q Without y'all who knows if Kale would of got to where he was today!! Y'all really made the experience so much fun!!
