“Max Cardozo”. Henryk only had a name of a mercenary that he was to meet. How on earth would he find him in the middle of bustling Estilan? A few drops of rain landed on his jacket. The market on Defoe Street was a designated place but it was too easy to get lost amidst the makeshift stalls with street food and bootleg gadgets. Finding someone he did not even know the looks of was seemingly impossible.

“Hey Jensen” he suddenly heard a female voice saying his surname. He abruptly turned his head and saw a young woman, leaning on the wall near a corner shop. With her short ruffled hair and baggy cargo pants one could have easily mistake her for a teenage boy if not for a tiny sports bra she was wearing that left her flat but unmistakably feminine chest on display. Henryk’s eyes wandered inadvertently on her slim toned midriff, completely exposed by her scant upper-body attire. She must have been rather cold wearing that in the damp night’s air, but her defying posture showed no sign of it. Looking Henryk in the eye, she let out a cloud of vapor out of her mouth. As she tilted her head slightly, neon lights played on numerous piercings which adorned her face.

“Well? Out of words, aren’t we?” she said mockingly, having certainly noticed his gaze on her. Henryk had to snap out of it. He caught a glimpse of two guns dangling on her sides.

“I thought a supposedly tough mercenary called Max would be male” he uttered, his eyes helplessly drawn to her slender figure. “But I can definitely tell that you’re not”

“‘Max’ is short for Maxine, sweetheart” she squinted playfully. “What’s the job?”
