The franchise is great, I have been a fan since i was 8 and im 17 now so.
but your best to just enjoy it on your own the fandom can be quite awful. don't get me wrong there's some really nice dedicated people out there. but overall its pretty bad
but ya i think you should get back into it its pretty great, no matter how many people tell you its for little kids and your "too old for it"

The IDW comics are really good. I would start there and possibly enjoy the franchise a safeΒ distance from the fandom. They can be a bit nit-pickyΒ with how people enjoy Sonic.Β Β
But that's the advice I would give for most fandoms actually. I had similar problems in the Invader Zim fandom.Β

IDW has now taken on the sonic comic license. So if you want the newest sonic comics closely connected to Sega I would suggest reading them.Β
