#9: Negative Forbush-Man - What The-?!

I guess I'm just not done with these esoteric characters, which I probably saved the best for last. Bet you didn't know Forbush-Man had an evil twin, did you? ...I bet you didn't know Forbush-Man was a THING did you? ...bet you didn't know this is an actual Marvel character, did you!?

So while Forbush-Man isn't entirely the most unsung "hero" in Marvel's line up, he's definitely unknown to those who aren't true, hard core fans. In truth, I'm not a huge Marvel fan, but when I was younger my brother collected the "What The-!?" comics, a spoof series that Marvel did of itself and a common place character was Forbush-Man, a pathetic loser with a pot on his head, aspiring to be a superhero. I really loved these comics as well as the character of Forbush, so when they did an evil spin off of him, I was needless to say, intrigued.

I think what made this plot so funny wasn't so much that it spoofed Infinity Wars, or that they even felt the need to give a character as worthless as Forbush-Man and evil counterpart... but that Negative Forbush-Man was actually a completely legitimate threat to the entire multiverse! I guess if you have a totally miserable character, their doppleganger has to be amazing... I guess it's reverse Bizarro logic (did I just use Marvel to explain DC?) Anyway, despite being in long john pajama and wearing cook wear for a helmet, Negative Forbush-Man actually looks pretty cool in my book and I had to pay homage to one of my favorite plots on one of my favorite characters. Little known, sure, but still up there in my list.
