#24: Goblins - Final Fantasy

Next up in our countdown is the eternal one-hit wonder of the Final Fantasy series. (drawn in the style they had in Final Fantasy IX. Why? Because FFIX was the best, that's why!) Whether they be called Goblins or Imps the one thing remains that these characters are the lowest of the low in any game they appear in putting them on par with the Goombas of Super Mario Bros!

And even with different versions of them, these little buggers are never a threat. By the time you encounter them in any form they always take at least one hit to kill! All we've gotten out of these guys were Goblin Mages- (still push over enemies) -and the utterly worthless skill of Goblin Punch that for some reason remains a constant for Blue Magic throughout Final Fantasies! Such true worthless flunkies like these can't be overlooked, thus the Final Fantasy Goblins/Imps fit right in!

Too this day I have not played a Final Fantasy game, but this character looks cool.

Thats a shame; Yeah the art direction of Final Fantasy IX was amazing, they managed to make even minor enemies well developed looks that easily could have even made them main characters!

FFIX is, indeed, the best. That and XII. Which had Baknamy's, not goblins.

Good man! I'm glad you agree, though I really felt XII was poor. Maybe because Vaan looks like Xandir P. Wifflebottom from Drawn Together lol

If you forget Vaan and Penelo exist, the characters are great. And to be fair, Vaan and penelo are just realistic disillusioned 17 year olds.

I felt the game and characters were all pretty watered down and boring, personally

The plot derailed halfway through definitely, but I disagree with you on the characters. It just didn't give you the characterisation right off the bat; they were like real people. You don't know a real person's every facet of personality just fro mlooking at them.
