‘Visual Speak’ contest essay:

In a world so paraded with technology it seems as though life is nothing but a visual conversation.

Through the prominence of optical aids by way of cell phones, e-mail, magazines, computers, billboards, the World Wide Web, etc. – vocal reverberation has become an unrequited cacophony replaced instead with images speaking far louder than words.

‘Visual Speak’ is united, without creed and without prejudice; a founded existence where hearts and minds alike use various mediums to converse. Through the use of such mediums anyone with an idea, a vision, an inspiration, can speak this one language – this one language that never requires translation and where any one understanding does not supersede or eviscerate the next. This indissoluble Visual Speak requires no etiquette or phonic, just an open apperception and wide eyes as fuel for the imagination.

The contest requirements include that each submission include a short essay explaining how the art “Speaks Visual”. How does my image speak visually? That’s open to your own perception. ‘NVIDIA is the world leader in visual computing technologies and the inventor of the GPU, a high-performance processor which generates breathtaking, interactive graphics on workstations, personal computers, game consoles, and mobile devices.’ My intent was to create an image that could visually speak such abilities. I focused on using crisp, vibrant colors and an element of whimsy in an effort to capture peoples visual attention. It is my hope that this goal was achieved.

My ‘NVIDIA Visual Speak’ image was created with Poser and Photoshop and with the help of an NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GT Graphics Card.
