Description I drew another new virus. This one is none other than:

MyDoom: First appearing in 2004, this malware swiftly because the fastest spreading worm ever, shattering the records set by SoBig and ILOVEYOU, and as of 2017 has yet to be surpassed. This virus created a backdoor in the system32 folder for infected computers to be remotely accessed and would copy itself to shared folders in peer-to-peer networks in order to increase its spread. Oddly, the virus was coded to avoid email addresses from certain universities, as well as Microsoft and Symantec’s websites. On the onset of the virus’s spread, its rapid growth caused massive slowdowns in all internet traffic. The virus spread so rapidly that it is estimated that Mydoom was responsible for approximately one in ten e-mail messages during its initial run.

A variant of MyDoom, Mydoom.B, had the ability to target and block access to Microsoft websites and popular antivirus websites, and even inflicted DDOS attacks upon them. Though a flaw in the virus’s own code led to it’s downfall by slowing its spread, new variants of MyDoom have resurfaced over the years, igniting fears of the existence of a more advanced MyDoom variant.

For such a powerful and fearsome virus, I felt it’d be fitting to draw the creature as a towering hideous amalgam of robotic parts consumed by a mass of pure viral chaos.

Any reason for there being two MyDoom designs?

I'd made one design back when I'd named it after the Novarg worm. Turns out Novarg and MyDoom are one and the same.
But given how infectious MyDoom is, I figured keeping the variant would make sense.
