Description
This is my E.V.O. comic. There isn’t more of it than these pages which depict the origin and formation of the team. I had planned to make it longer. I even have several ideas sketched out and a have completed new page. Alas, I moved on to other projects.

The choice of name and inspiration for the storyline:

The full title of the Comic is E.V.O The GTS Evolution Project. By now you know each letter of E.V.O. stands for the names of each member of the gts defense team, Elise, Valerie, and Olivia. However, the true reason for the E.V.O. name is not a parallel of Eva from Evangelion, but short for evolution. I got the name from a video game named “Evo The Search for Eden” which appeared for the Super Nintendo. It was a game where you start as a fish and evolve your creature through different eras by eating weaker creatures to gain experience and eventually reach human being.

Inspiration for the story came from a couple of giantess super heroine stories that appeared of the boards to Bubblegum Crisis (OVA) to, yes, Evangelion Neo Genesis to even the cartoon Totally Spies. The main flow of events follows most closely that of Evangelion but I promise E.V.O.’s plot won’t twist as much as Evangelion’s did.

The Plot:

E.V.O. takes place in the year 2065 AD. In the year 2060 AD, a major jump in evolution occurred in the female population. The first recorded incident of a women growing into a 100 ft plus giantess. Over the next five years 13 women ranging in ages from 18 to 30, actually 38, have become giantesses. The change puts a major stress on the mind. Combined with near invincibility and a more violent persona, these women have wrecked havoc on the world. After three new giantesses appeared without the negative side effects, a branch of the US military moved in to train them as a defense team. Their first mission was to rid North America of known giantesses and move on to those in other parts of the world. But are the girls really being told all the reasons for the war they are now fighting?

Elise Albers (GTS 14)
Age- 19
Ht- 5’10” >> 146 ft
X ability- giantess radar, force light beam
Location- United States
Info- Elise is the daughter of the famed Dr. Albers. She was born in Canada but moved to the US at age 14 with her father after she lost her mother. When she became a giantess, it was with a target to direct the rage from her change at, gts 5 who destroyed the building her father was in. Her eyes don’t need glasses when she’s a giantess and the prescription at normal size is now lower than before. Elise shares her father’s brains but is emotionally fragile. She deals with the lost of her second parent by concentrating fully on her crusade to stop giantesses who harm people.

Valerie Johnson (GTS 15)
Age-18
Ht- 5’8” >> 142 ft
X ability- protection barrier
Location- United States
Info- Val is a senior at Nathan Hertz High. The only people who call her Valerie are her parents and Greg. To everyone else, she is Val. Val is what people at school would call “a nice girl.” Her first emotion after the change was embarrassment. Before her shame can turn into anger, she is intercepted by Elise. The military outfitted her with a shrinker wrist band, restoring her normal life. Aside from being popular, Val has a strong sense of right and wrong, she doesn’t like bullies. While Elise concentrates on the enemy giantess, Val’s main concerns are the little people in the way. Ironically that’s what blows her cover when she protects a news crew who get close enough to get detailed images of her face.

Olivia Perez (GTS 16)
Age- 24
Ht- 5’6” >>138 ft
X ability- sonic clap shock wave
Location- United States
Info- Olivia is one of six children, two older brothers and a sister and a younger brother and sister. The youngest, Marcos, helps her run a diner that she owns. Olivia was shot three times by assassins from the Dark Hand. She still has the scars. Olivia is the first giantess to apparently come back form the dead, raising questions about the mortality of a giantess. Instead of mental stress, Olivia simply went into a trance. Her brother and friend manage to snap her out of it, with the help of a slap from Val. She later agreed to join the other two girls forming the new team.

Friends and gts defense military personal:

Dr. Albers- a native of Canada. He is also Elise’s father. Dr. Albers is an expert in EM waves’ effect of cellar biology. The US military contracted him to help develop a method of stopping the giantess attacks. However, it seemed that the good doctor knew more about giantess biology than officials first thought. Unfortunately, his lab was destroyed in a giantess attack. Luckily much of his research was saved but Dr. Albers was deemed lost in the attack. His body was never found in the rubble however. Could it be that Dr. Albers did not perish after all?

Colonel Mike Summers- at age 22, he is one of the youngest officers in the gts defense branch of the military. He is later put in charge of the GTS defense team. He shares a special friendship with Elise.

Dr. Red and General Blue- both their real names are classified. Dr. Red, a formal colleague of Dr. Albers, is in charge of tech development. General Blue is the head of the newly created branch of the military. The two of them only dispense enough information as they deem necessary for those under them. It’s clear that they know the big picture of what the team is really up against.

Dr. Diana Riley- she’s 23 and chief medical officer at the base. The health of the team is in her capable hands. She does tend to be a bit territorial where her own authority is at issue.

Bob and Norm- Bob is thin with glasses. Norm is somewhat heftier and bald. They’re a pair of lower level medical technicians. Mainly they’re for comic relief.

Angela and Kristen- the two are Val’s best friends. Angela is tall with long dark hair. Kristen is short and blond. Val trusts them enough to let them in on her secret but not right away. The two are also the only ones besides Greg himself that seem to know how he feels about Val.

Greg- a senior at Nathan Hertz, he is easy prey for bullies and has a secret crush on Val. He witnessed Val as a giantess. He was willing to keep Val’s secret but she mistakenly thought she needed to bribe him with a date. Greg’s too shy to tell Val how he really feels and she is blissfully unaware of his crush. He does have one thing going for him. She knows he exists.

Detective Sam “Erasers” O’Neal- 28 year old Detective O’Neal got his nickname from his partner back when he was a rookie. He made a lot of mistakes and his partner would always say, “Everyone makes mistakes Sam, that’s why pencils have erasers.” The last part became a nickname for the young rookie. When his partner was killed in the line of duty, many blamed Sam’s lack of experience and the name stuck. He and Olivia have a close relationship. She is the only one who can still use the saying and he takes it in a good natured way. The reason; her father was Sam’s partner. The two flirt constantly at the diner and Marcos looks up to him as almost family. Despite his early years on the force, Sam is an excellent detective. After losing his job with the force, he joined the gts defense to help solve the new problem of the Dark Hand.

Marcos Perez- is the youngest of Olivia’s siblings at age 18. He is an amateur mechanic and his prize possession is his hover car, a 2050 cherry red Onyx Slipstream. After Olivia’s change, he let the rest of the family know she was okay. He continues to run the diner for her since she is officially dead, but gets tired of people always offering their condolences. He is often hanging around the base and soon develops a crush on Dr. Riley. After a Japanese news crew breaks the news of the gts team’s identity, Olivia returns to run her diner.

GTS defense (GTSD) - the new branch of the US military designed to handle the giantess threat. The artillery and machines they employ are just a deterrent. Their main job is to evacuate areas under attack. They also do a pretty good job of holding back the media and releasing only edited information and pictures.

X ability- mind control, shadow beam
Location- unknown, last seen in Northern Canada
Info- She was first to appear and signaled the new era by destroying an entire city. She then disappeared into the wilderness. The extent of her mind control is most effective on weak willed individuals. It may also explain the difficulty in finding her. She rarely makes appearances near populated areas. It’s rumored that one of the other giantesses in also her daughter.

Info- Rachel has a real love for mindless destruction of property. She has caused more destruction to cities than any other giantess. Not concerned with domination, she is often unpredictable and only enters populated areas when she’s in the mood. She was responsible for the destruction of Dr. Albers lab. She later develops her X ability while in the detention center.

GTS 6 & 7 (the twins)
X ability- fusion
Location- Ireland
Info- The twins declared themselves rulers of Ireland. The British managed to hold them back from invading other countries with use of the tidal cannon. The twins are well coordinated and even 3 on 2 against the GTS team, managed to fight to a draw the first time. Their power manifested itself in transit to the US detention center.

X ability- radiant energy sword

Location- Continental Europe
Info- after hearing of the success of the GTS team, these three giantesses form a team of their own. GTS 10 is a native of England. She became a giantess while on vacation and could not return because of the tidal cannon.

GTS 12
X ability- Ra’s solar flare
Location- Northern Africa
Info- she may be the fastest giantess to develop her full X ability, but perhaps she didn’t do it alone.

GTS 13 (real name- Sara)
X ability- none developed yet
Location- US, a Florida beach
Info- one of the least aggressive of the giantesses, this Cuban native’s attitude is more selfish and uncaring. She uses up the resources of the beach town she’s in and moves on not caring if she destroys property or steps on anyone. She was the team’s first mission and proved no match for them.

Other Characters:

The Dark Hand- A secret cult who worships the giantesses as goddesses. They officially first appeared in 2060, after GTS 1 appeared. But evidence suggests their beliefs date back a lot farther. They have the strange ability to locate new giantesses before they change. No one knows who their leader is.

Rick and Jason- two bullies at Nathan Hertz High. The taller one, Rick, has his eye on Val, but not in the same way as Greg. He sees her as one more popular girl at school who he hasn’t slept with yet. And he’s not going to let a wimp like Greg get in his way. However, his target of conquest may turn out to be more than he can handle.

X ability- special superhuman ability developed after a woman becomes a giantess.

Tidal cannon- weapon that can generate whirlpools making sea and channel crossings treacherous.

Ion force field- Japanese made defense against lighting blast.

Thermal wall- nuclear based barrier that holds back GTS 2

Shrinker arm band- Dr. Alber’s last invention. It was the basis for both the shrinker wrist band and the suppression collar.

Shrinker wrist band mk1 & 2- The first miniaturization of the arm band technology. The mk2 is more streamed lined and stylish. It also contains a communicator and can remote project its effect up to a distance of 10 yards.

Suppression collar- device placed on captured giantesses so they can be held in the detention center.
