I really liked it.  It made the character a believable concept while holding true to it's core identity.  I would have liked seeing different types of ego avatars going out into the universe fitting the different species he hooks up with, and  army of Kurt Russles in the climax of the film fighting the Guardians

While I would have liked to see more of Ego's planet face, in James Gunn's defense, Ego did have a human form in the comics (example from his first appearance readcomiconline.to/Comic/Thor-… ). Would you say he was given more respect than Galactus from F4:RotSS?
