Utena investigates......a verry important question.....SCIENCEI actualy thought about this a lot while watching the series, I mean boob swords were comin from everywhere; pure madness. A lot of my questions involve cheast swords I just can't get over it
Also poor Anthy trying to roll with things without laughter or sarcasm is a pretty great thing.

though i hope anthy's character improves. because i can't bring myself to care about her a whole lot when she herself doesn't seem to truly care about anything. someone could slap her across the face as hard as they can and she'll just smile. she has no free will and i admit it's a little annoying so i hope she improves

The thing about Anthy's character though is that she's marked by her lack of free will and defined by it deeply, so in a sense she can't change that much, we just tend to learn more about her. As the series goes on it becomes more clear that Anthy can partially manipulate the people around her, which to me also reads as passive resistance. Also, there is an important reason that Anthy became trapped in her current role, and it was her choice as well as emotional.

I have issues with Anthy's character too, but I just think that the way she has to be written cuts off any agency on her part
