The lost continent of Atlantis is finally discovered! Explorers are marking their position with magnesium torches as giant batysphere sub-walker approaches one of the ruined temples.Related content

But if a bathysphere is needed (extreme depth/pressure) how are the "explorers" able to get around with what looks like regular diving gear?

Anyway, really beautiful piece! I was wondering what people were doing with torches underwater

well.. ok... i must admit that the magnesium torches may not be very real
and AFAIK there was some kind of underwater torch used during Sydney Olympic games opening ceremony...

bathyspheres are real, they were used frequently in ocean exploration in the first half of 20th century. Now they are quite obsolete and were replaced by various minisubs.
