Oh dear, that last line really speaks about how Eithne thinks Anju thinks of her concerns vs Eithne's. Even if Anju is good in wanting to protect Eithne, Eithne sees it more as Anju wanting to protect what she has rather than protecting Eithne's being and values.Β

shrugs communication is hard (and scary), especially for two people coming from such unbelievably different world views. It doesn't help that Eithne kinda sees herself as the one in charge, Anju's caretaker, etc, so the concept of Anju needing to protect her wouldn't exactly sit well with a person who hates the idea of anyone else having control over the situation.

Ahhh I see what you mean! Β I guess I was thinking more along the lines of the instinctive "to protect, must isolate"... but the idea of giving up control in order to be protected... yeh, I can see where Eithne would have some serious issues with that. Β Doesn't help that she's got a certain purple kitty whispering in her ear, too, I would imagine!
