Description This took a little longer than I thought on what helps me get through my art block. There's too many things to list off what inspires me in my art and such, but these were some that hit the spot when I have a pencil in my hand.

You can try it out and pick up a sheet here: [link]

Capcom & UDON: One of the biggest influences in my artistic life. From the memorable character designs to the jaw-dropping posters and images their artists have created just keeps the fire burning to become an even better artist than before.

Himoru Arakawa: She's one of the newest artists I've grown a liking to for her style and action into her manga. Fullmetal Alchemist is one of my favorite manga for it's action and characters. She's got a good sense of humor and isn't afraid to kill off a lot of a few favorite characters.XD

Marvel Comics: C'mon. Who here hasn't picked up a comic from Marvel? Spider-Man, Hulk, Deadpool, Immortal Iron Fist, Fantastic Four, Thor, and of course The X-Men. They've been around before I was even born and still prove to stand among many as one of the best graphic literatures today. I love Deadpool breaking the 4th law, Iron Fist's jaw-shattering fights, and even J. Jonah Jameson's never ending attempt to make Spider-Man an infamous hero in his Daily Bugle papers.XD

Gainax: I'm just gonna say I love their anime and movies. FLCL rocks!

Samurai Duelers League: What can I say about SDL? It's been with the DeviantART community for a few years now and it still brings in new artists who love drawing samurai and ninja duking it out in so many ways. My works been dedicated to it for the longest time so I can honestly say it's a heavy influence to my art these days. Made so many friends there and have a blast dueling many artists and seeing how the outcomes end. One of my favorite communities to visit online. : )

Music: Eastern Youth, Orange Range, Metallica, Nujabes, various sountracks, etc, etc.

Shimura Ken: As a kid, I watched his shows many times as I was growing up in Okinawa. One of the most famous comedians in Japan, his sketches and skits kept me laughing hard from his looney acts and crude humor to his fellow cast mates. He's developed characters that are just plain silly to look at but still you can't help but wonder what he's gonna do next. Decades of comedy throughout the years and I still can't get enough.

Kuyohiko Azumi: Artist of Yotsuba& and Azumanga Daioh. Definitely one of the best manga artists who displays so much details in her work. She stands out from many manga artist for her detailed backgrounds yet simple character designs. Love the humor in her manga. Especially in Yotusba.XD

Falcoon: This guy was definitely the biggest influence during my college years in AI. Back then, you'd find this guy updating his site daily with new art that would just blow my mind away. This dude has great creativity in character designs and variety on what to draw the next day. I envy that drive, heh.

Manglobe Studios: Samurai Champloo and Mitcho e Hatchin are two of my favorite series for the action and character developments. The animation flowed through the fights, the colors were mesmerizing, and it just kicked ass.

Akira Toriyama: The first manga and anime I ever picked up was Dragonball. Dragon Quest was my favorite game and Dr. Slump was just the best. Aside from his anime, it was really his posters and pinups that really got me hooked in his work. The worlds and characters he's created always seem like they would survive the test of time. One of the greatest artists the world's ever seen in this artist's opinion.

Magic The Gathering: One of the few geek trips I fell into during my college years. I was really into the black cards cause they had the death creatures and devilish minions that would just plague the field and kill creatures like crazy. I loved the art from so many of the dedicated artists of Wizard. Greg Staples is probably one of the best painters from the list as you can see from the image above.

Studio Ghibli: Their movies are just out of this world. I guess you can take that as a literal thing in this case. Miyazaki, you crazy old man, I dunno how you do it.

Dinotopia: I love dinosaurs. Drew hundreds of them as a kid and became an even bigger fan of them when Jurassic Park first came to theaters. So when I found this book about dinosaurs and humans living together, it felt like someone made the book just for me. Sadly, I haven't drawn the creatures in years but that may change soon.
