My final project for Comparative Analysis was to take one of our sketches and to further develop the selected sketch into a finished piece. I chose to create a sculpture because I don't create sculptures often so I figured I would giving sculpting another try. However, I wanted to work at a much larger scale (about my height) which I never done before. Figured that since I'm going to be creating something that is out of my comfort zone I might as well go big in terms of scale. The sculpture is made out chicken wire with rice paper that has either been glued, taped, tied, or wrapped around some parts of the wire sculpture. The plan in creating this sculpture was using the same automatism technique in my sketch and apply it to a sculpture thus making it an abstract sculpture. Although, the form of this sculpture is relative to what some would say is serpentine which was something that I never noticed while making it until our final critique.
