Thanks, funny enough painting is my weakness and I don't like to use color so it's crazy how well I manage to put our all together. I am considering of practicing more with painting so that I would be more comfortable. I spoke with my manager about this as well and he thought it was crazy too.

It's your weakness?! Because these are crazy good, I'd expect these from a professional haha
I'd love to see more paintings from you, if you ever decide to post your practice though!

Haha thanks I find it discomforting for me because I'm more accustomed to pen and pencil drawing than paintbrushes for I'm not painting daily. Also I find it challenging to work with colors because there's more variety that I often hesitate to use color for values than using blacks, whites, and gray values. But I'm learning to trust my instincts and abilities I'm always my worst critic.
Thanks, now that I finished my semester now would be a good time to start practicing I just have to plan wisely.

Haha, aww, I hear you. It really is challenging, especially when you're not accustomed to it! I'm glad you're getting yourself to trust your instincts more!
That's awesome!! Hey I'm curious, what's art like in post-secondary? I'm planning on trying it out for my minor... Are you in an art school or is it just a program they offer?

I often keep looking at what I do and thinking that it's not enough especially when I know there's nothing more for me to do which also makes me a neat freek lol
I don't know if this answers your first question but for me I'm majoring in studio art and you would have to choose a concentration such as drawing, painting, sculpting, or other traditional art mediums. I went with drawing so I would be taking more courses that focuses on drawing but I can still try other studio art courses that are not drawing. Also, you would have to take art history classes as well which I like the least but you get to go to art museums whether on your own or as a class. I first started out in a community college and all they had was fine art which is the same as studio art but you are free to take any art course because it's more general whereas the other one, design studies focuses more on the digital art aspect. I go to a college where they offer art programs (studio art and graphic design) although art schools are good but I heard that they're pricey and you would need a portfolio as your resume to get accepted. But doing an art program at a regular school is still the same except that you would have to take other classes that are not related to art as electives to fulfill the academic requirement such as English, math, history, science, and language. I enjoy it overall because I get to do something I love to do and you get to be around classmates that share similar interests as you do in terms of making art. Taking a studio art class doesn't feel like a class at all feels more like free time for me depending on what art I'm doing. There's hardly any written exam for studio art classes it's just you and the work you've done during the semester.

I know what you mean! I'm very critical towards myself as well xD it's important to have a healthy balance of criticism for yourself so you know where you need to improve, but sometimes it can be really demotivating~
Aww I see! Thank you for sharing your experience with me, I really appreciate it! And I'm so glad to hear that you have a good time with it I hope it'll feel that way for me too when I go into it. I'm going to be taking it as a regular course, since I'll be majoring in something completely unrelated... there aren't any prerequisites, so I'm really hoping it's going to be more lenient on beginners haha. I'm a little nervous because I never took art in high school and the only things I draw at home are digital, so I can't really handle traditional at all right now lol. I feel like I'll be very behind compared to everyone else

Most definitely even when you know you were right the first time. It eats up a lot of my time that I spent over and over trying to make what I'm doing better.
I believe you'll do fine, most professors they're not looking to see how well you can draw they are focused on your progress being made throughout the semester and your willingness to try. Which I also forgot to mention that at times you'll get these classmates who are better than you and it either encourages or discourages you for it happens to me quite a lot. But there are also those who are not experienced in art at all and it might be their first time in which they are nervous just as you are. So although some maybe a pro at it but they always have a weakness that for you, you see as your strength in that area. That's the mindset I try to have for every art class I take.

Yeah, exactly!
Aww I see. Thanks for the reassurance! I'll try to follow by that mindset when my time comes
