If there was ever an artwork that wouldn't look out of place in an art gallery or framed up in somebody's house, its this one. Fantastic work Sketch!
There's something utterly fascinating about the expansion and contortion of flesh and blood that look to have formed veins around the room. Gory, yet simplistically detailed enough as to evoke a sense intrigue without the disgust of realistically drawn veins and skin splayed across the page.
The face is by far one of the more interesting parts of the artwork I find, the nice detail of her skin stretching out as it seems to have dug itself into her skin.
However there is another interesting interpretation that I just noticed quite literally a few seconds as I was writing the previous sentence and that is the fact that she appears to be wearing face paint.
The skin on her neck and ear is tanned while the kabuki face paint obscures her true face behind its contorting web of veins and flesh.
The expression on her face displays comfort despite such painful occurrence that does fascinate me, a sign perhaps that the masks we create for ourselves shield the inner self from harm no matter how many times our pain attempts to stretch and twist and contort itself as though a phantom hook had dug itself into our mind and tried desperately to tear us away from the comforts brought on by the hiding places we create for ourselves...
OR perhaps Solidus is reading too much into this and needs to be more : )
XD Anyway, just wanted to show my appreciation for you older works Sketch. Its a real shame that they go so unappreciated because they really do pack a lot of fantastic attention to details in them man.

Aww shucks! Thank you so much again for your lovely comment! (>-<)
I remember feeling very proud when I did this one. I had never done imagery as weird and crazy-looking as this one so it was pretty experimental haha. I was satisfied with how clean the lines were despite being done with oil paint and on a somewhat small scale. The kimono pattern especially I was happy with xD
This may be another piece that I may decide to re-draw in the future. I've gotten kind of better with drawing kimono and Shimada/Wareshinobu/Ofuku hairstyles so I'll be able to add more detail x3

Dude I'd still feel proud of this one man, like I said this is artwork I'd certainly feel proud putting on display in my house. It'd really tie the room together.
No matter what though I'm still totally intrigued to see how you'd redraw it, especially if you're gonna add some more details to it.
Delicious bloody veins splayed with skin... Yummy.
