Description My take on Project:Rooftop's webhead 2.0 contest to redesign Spider-Man's costume.
Had loads of fun doing this as well as a few quirky ideas i wanted to put down on paper but wasn't sure which one to design and submit to the contest.

All i wanted was for spidey to take advantage of his 'stick 'em' powers so i knew i had to give him more freedom using his bare hands and feet. Then the rest of the costume I just had fun making up so I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

Hope Project:Rooftop and you will be happy too

Hey! I like your oc!! I love the colors and the design! A guy i met named MangaAngel and I created a group called the Omega Cluster theomegacluster.deviantart.com…  we are a group based off the Spider-Verse but its all based off OTHER PEOPLES OC! if you wanna put your character in there, we are always open to welcome new members

Anything involving Spider-Man is an automatic win, for me.

Very original design concept. I think this would make a brilliant Scarlet Spider costume should he ever reappear in some form or other. I like the black insets which break up the silhouette and against a dark sky or building would make spidey look even more thin, gangly and spiderlike.

I also like how you have incorporate the chest spider as part of the costume (rather than just a logo). The neck portion looks rumpled, like it could doubles up as a hood by stretching upwards over the head which would be a cool alternate look without changing costume (especially as a lot of spidey villains seem to prefer the hooded look - goblin, hobgoblin etc).

While I am worried about the practicalities of the fingerless/toeless clothing (which you have touched on solutions in your other replies), the only part of this costume I am not feeling the long glove look. I seldom feel this look works on male characters. It is a small niggle for me but there it is.

Thanks man, glad you like it. it's all just for fun anyways, I wasn't trying to take a serious step to redesign his costume for a real story or anything, I just read the contest and it inspired me.
But Spiderman's always been one of my favorite heroes so I just had a blast creating this

The only thing about bare hands and feet is... Well his identity would be obvious. I mean his fingerprints would be all over the city. So it wouldn't be hard to figure out who he was I suppose. As long as the NYPD had a crossmatch to his print. Otherwise Im sure a villain could take advantage to find his identity as well. But I love the concept. I do like the fact of the bare hands and feet. Actually makes sense. Like...wouldn't his "sticky powers" work better if he had bare feet and hands?....so Yeah... Amazing concept art you did. I love how you mixed black in as well to it. I mean its hard to a be a ninja spider when your in bright blue and red right?... The symbol on his head might be a liiiitte overkill but regardless overall its a plus for sure.

Thanks for the comment and who knows, maybe they'll write a story where he has a mutation where those little tiny sticky hairs on his hands and feet might manipulate his fingers prints or "hide" them whenever peter's out as spider-man. then the cops/villains won't be able to track him down

Good idea!... Im sure being as smart as peter is they could have him figure something out.
