haha. when i got the file it was only the color layer. no ink lines. so i just layed the pencils over the top. thought i made it look kinda cool tho.

Ah, you should try making the pencil layer "multiply". Then make dulplicates of that multiply layer if the pencil layer doesn't look dark enough. If you do that, then the color will show through as well. .
