Description
My response to the masses who think they are just so cute for acting like idiots.First attempt at shading. I think the skin and face turned out well, but the clothes, not so well. Dark colors are a bit harder to shade with.

Dude, I was looking at this picture again. Dang. You don't know how much I hate 1337, but I now understand it! (Only because I read a webcomic, "MegaTokyo".) And it seems you understand it pretty well too, judging from all the other comments others gave.

1337 had pretty much all but fallen out of use. MegaTokyo brought it back with its huge popularity.

I noticed that. There were so many who got to go back to it and/or learned it (like me) through that webcomic. Then again, it's both a good and bad thing, I guess.

I agree with crushing l337 5p34k, it's a pointless creation that lacks both purpose and functionality.
Great picture though, love the stiff arm with the curled fingers.

"1337 5p34l<" or "leet speak," is a form of writing on the internet. Started by hackers, it became a widely-used form of writing, used to show how elite a person was. Letters are replaced by numbers and symbols, such as E=3, and A=4. Another form, called "l_ll+l24-l337" or "ultra-leet," came into effect, and the basis of ultra-leet was to replace EVERY single letter in your sentences with another symbol or combination, with the exception for the letter 'l.' However, it fell out of main use due to it's time to type. It can still be seen in some places, however, and is probably going to be replaced by "OMG! LOL!! ROFLL!!1!!1 U SUXORZ!!"

I used 3ds Max to make the model.. which took me ages.. then I used Macromedia Flash MX to make a gif.... (tends to be smaller than adobe's gifs...)

Easy, you'll drop the baton right at the start of the 800, sprint fast for 200, and I'll take you down before 500. And I seem to remember being consistently faster than you in the 800 towards the end of the season, and you can't deny it.

Plus, the symbols just look like the words. Don't over-analyze what you are seeing. Some fonts are also easier to deal with, of course, but dA's works pretty well.
Take a step back and don't view the art as a series of lines; look at it as a masterpiece.

Actually, this is the only thing I write 1337 in. I don't mind it so much when used appropriately, such as to give a point or in parody. I'm really quite a grammar freak, despite what I may seem. I stopped playing Diablo II online just because of other people; most weren't bad, but I met at least four different people each time I got on who either typed in 1337 or entered in games clearly labled "NO HACKS. PVP FOR FUN." Then join in with hacks, kill everyone, and write "joo r l)34l)!!1!"
