I Dun Get It:
-I sort of made Flowey a bit dependent on Frisk's SOUL. It's only cuz I like to blame his OOCness(out of character) on her 'good' influence. Either way, yeah, if he goes too many hours without her, he starts to wilt and just kinda closes in on himself. He can't die unless he truly gives up, but his feelings revert back to that awful void until Frisk comes back.

Ikr? I was so sad when I kept sparing him and he was just... so confused and literally incapable of understanding what I was doing and why... guuh. Even if he transforms into that freaking gigantic monster and all. He's just a flower in the end and.. it just makes him seem so helpless I guess. And I was like "FLOWEY YOU LITTLE JERK LET ME HUG YOU OK YOU'LL BE OKAY BUT I STILL KINDA HATE YOU BUT NOT." I dunno. It made me feel things.

My Flowey has just barely started to absorb a few emotions from Frisk.
He's mostly possessive though, as you've noticed.
(It's because Frisk is all he has and he finds her incredibly interesting.)
Otherwise, he really just is an abandoned being that is basically forced to live.
There are many days where I feel 'empty', and they're maddening. So if you were like that all the time?
I really can click with my flower. XD
That's why I love him so much and adore animating/drawing him all the time.
