I mentioned somewhere that Verdi tends to bottle his emotions, and this is the perfect example of that. He's not very good at admitting when he feels angry/sad/scared. Like at all. He covers it with a bit more sass than usual, and he's slick enough to do this on a good day occasionally so people don't catch on.
