Mousse wasn't buying it. "C'mon, what's wrong? You can tell me, I won't blab about it! Cross my bell!"

Dex glanced away. "Nah - it's stupid." I'll get over it.

"It ain't stupid if it's bothering you. Tell me or I'll be forced to tickling you. And considering that I'm a good head taller than you now, it'll be a fight you won't win." Mousse smirked.

Dex let out a long sigh. "Sure - I guess you're right," he admitted. "It's just - why did you grow up and I didn't? Are you a different person now? Will I stay a kid forever? Can we even be friends? I know I'm overreacting, but you asked me what was wrong, so...."

"Woah woah, why couldn't we be friends? I'm not some crusty old woman now." Mousse tilted her head, "I mean, I can't really control when I get big, but I'm pretty sure I'm the same Mousse. Other than a newfound appreciation for where I live, which I kinda had anyway, but it's a loooong story."

Dex looked up at her. "Would you like to tell it?" he asked quietly.

Mousse bit her lip before sighing. It was only fair, she supposed. "You said you weren't born here, right? Do you remember Diana?"

"No - she left before I was summoned. I guess she forgot about me," he laughed.

Mousse just shrugged. "Probably a good thing. I was a jerk back then. Diana and I fought all the time. I actually ran away when we got to Bellavette and never looked back. I thought she absolutely hated me... and then I learned I was wrong."

"What happened?" Dex asked. This experience had to have been something huge to change Mousse's mind.

"I got a letter from her saying that she hoped I was happy." Mousse said, "I'd been a jerk for no reason, and the reason I'd left kinda didn't exist anymore. Taliesin almost dying or whatever reminded me of that reason though. I've got a family and friends here, which I didn't have on Euphor."

Dex hesitated, then nuzzled closer to her. "I'm glad you stayed."

Mousse blinked before nuzzling him. "Me too Dex. Me too"
