been years since I read the book.. They really should remake the movie, since they've got the tech to do ygramul, that's one less plothole.. Grograman, they could have done, but CG would make the whole perilin/Goab part a lot easier, I think.

I really have to read this book, I only saw the film.

I love the film but the book is well worth a read. It's especially interesting because you can tell in the first half of the novel that there are several little (or not) scenes/elements that would have been impossible to do in the early 80's on a budget. I can understand why they changed them in the film.
And then you get to the second half of the book... While you may recognize a few plot elements if you watched the fairly terrible "The Next Chapter", the second half is very different.
