I'm working on a fan game in Pokemon Essentials that aims to remake the Kanto Stories the proper way, utilizing canon from all through the series (RGBY, FRLG, HGSS, LetsGo, and even cut Beta content!).Notable Features:
Gen 2 Style Experience: I personal Favorite, I love the Gen 2 look and feel, and the game will be made with that style in mind. There are a few places where I break the Gameboy Color's limitations though.
Dex Expansion: The 150 of Kanto has been expanded, the Kanto Regional Pokedex is now over 300! No longer will you be stuck with Golbat or Chansey until you beat the game!
Remaining Starter?: That Starter you don't choose now gets a home. New Rival Jade or Jasper enters the scene!
Plot Restructuring: Some of the plot has been built up more to help it make more sense or flesh them out better.
Team Rocket!: Team Rocket makes a few more appearances now, and the Rocket Executives from HGSS show up as their younger selves, see how they rose up to become Executives!
Biome Enhancements: Kanto has one of the most boring Biome Diversity in the series, it's all Forest, Cave, or Sea outside of a Dungeon. The landscape changes now! Route 24 and 25 are a sandy beach retreat with a romantic cliffside view of the sunset before you get to the Seaside Cottage. Route 11 is now an industrial park handling the Cargo that ships in from the Vermillion Port. Routes 9 and 10 upgraded to a Canyon you need to traverse to get to Rock Tunnel, etc.
