This pretty much sums up how YouTube and COPPA treats animation on their website, especially with kids content. On the left, are four examples of things that are extremely popular amongst young kids those being Peppa Pig, Baby Shark, Cocomelon, and Sesame Street. On the right are things more for general audiences, those being SpongeBob, Disney, Sonic, and Pokémon. YouTube clearly sees the two as the same thing, when in reality, they're really different. With the exception of some parts of Sesame Street, who the heck watches any of the other three things past the age of five?! Plus, for the things on the right, those things appeal to everyone, not just kids. Although I'm not really a fan of Sonic or Pokémon, I heard a lot of things about content for both constantly getting marked as 'made for kids' and appeals failing to work. Also, while some things for Disney can be more for kids, many of the movies are considered classics by most, and are not just for kids. This is basically this situation that's been going on for the past three years ever since YouTube got affected by the FTC and COPPA in a nutshell. Hopefully, this gets fixed soon, because who knows how long this will last for...
