Description
Because Howl's Moving Castle made me sqee like the hopeless fangirl that I am.This was drawn in Bio lecture, because it is boring, and the spastic inking done in Lab. No, I apparantly can't work at home. This started as 'a simple Photoshop color study' but I lie to myself all the time it seems, because it got out of hand and behold! something that drained the batteries on my mouse, but it was so worth it.
I don't have anything of substance to put here, really, so I'll just say it's a fab movie, and Howl is definately bishie material. *nods sagely*

If you don't mind me asking, is Photoshop CS worth the money you pay for it? I saw in the description that you used it, so I thought you might have an opinion on it. :3
Sorry if I bothered you by asking, but I can't find anyone else who has it.

Well, Photoshop is indeed wonderful and magical, but I'm waaay pissed about how much Adobe charges, so I'm almost tempted to say 'no' but it's required at school and a friend got me a copy from his Creative Suite for my birthday. I would suggest checking eBay or a friend for a copy because it's fabulous, but ri-donk-ulously expensive.
(If you have any questions aboot it, lemme know and I'll try and help ya out, but I ain't no PS queen)
(and Danke for ze nice comment!)

XD Haha! I agree... I don't understand why it's $400 or so dollars just for a single program. I guess it's because they can. o.o 👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Lol! My friends? They all have bootleg copies... and my dad won't let me upload anything illegal. I'll try looking on eBay for a cheaper copy.
You're welcome! And thanks for letting me message you if I have any problems- you're more talented than you realize.

Try your friends' copies, I bet they'll work! You just can't register it, which is fine, cause all it gives you is tech support.
You know...*shifty eyes* if you wanted to give it a try, I could burn mine and send em off to you to see if they work. It's 3 programs actually, so if you didn't need them all (and I'm sure a lot of people don't need InDesign) maybe its not such a good idea. *does not think ahead* I don't know the requirements since I installed them on my Mac laptop which is fairly new...OSX, I believe, but if you wanted to give it a shot, lemme know!

Ooh, I've never used a drawing program on Windows, although I'm very partial to it. Because we only use Macs at school I had to get a laptop..GRRRR!! Making me spend this money *grumblegrumble*
The discounts are always good to get, even if it's not much in the end, so milk it for all its worth!
And the new Macs are VERY nice, I feel so bad for saying it because I still hate them, but you know quality when you see it.

Lol, its okay, I do that all the time!
And the school uses Macs for the Graphic Design students because of all the programs we have to use are mostly Mac compatible and easier to cross over files and stuff. The Interior Designers use the Windows labs for their stuff tho, because of the CAD programs. *growls menacingly again*
And I'm right with you on the gaming systems, I'm ALL about my PS2, there's no way I'm blowing chunks of cash on some dumb Xbox, esp when there's a new one due out soon.
And rants are love! I do nothing but rant on a daily basis. *hi fives fellow ranter*

Really? I'm surpised your school uses Macs- our school is almost Mac-free. I personally think Windows are easier to deal with when they have problems/need upgrades (which is really often lol), but maybe Macs are more anti-virus. Because no one writes viruses for them. 👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Aww... it sucks that you had to buy a laptop. Those things are too expensive for their own good. >_>;
I might have to spend a fortune on a new computer as well... my PSP is starting to goo up the RAM and the bus. Well, at least computers are cheaper now than they ever were...
Lol! But what's the use of power if you have no programs to utilize it? ^_~
<oints menacinly at X-box>
No offense if you like X-box or anything (I can't tell you how many X-box fans at school I've ticked off lol), but that game system just doesn't have a lot of good games for it. Other than sports/shooters, of course. The games that actually *use* the Box's capability are far and few between. PS2 and Gamecubes use their power well, no matter how little it is.
Sorry for the little rant, there. Looking forward to more of your artwork! :3

Haha... you're right! I could probably just try it out over on thier computers, or ask them if I could take it home with me. XD 👍: 0 ⏩: 0
Lol! You don't have to do that- I don't want to be any trouble for you (and my dad would know if I used his paypal account to cover shipping XD; ). I use Windows XP (my elementary school teachers made me scared of Macs, although I heard the new ones are really nice ^^), so I'm not sure if it would be compatible with my craptacular XP system.
If worse comes to worse, I could always buy it through my school... students get pretty hefty discounts, so it might end up affordable.
I also just found out Paint Shop Pro isn't as crappy as it seems for a cheap program- it has really nice airbrushes. Which I just found out yesterday...
Photoshop CS just has a lot more useable features. ^^

Howl is quite t3h shmex. And he's, like, older than Miyazaki's other guy leads. XD So I dont' feel dirty thinking, "Yeah, he's t3h shmex!"

LOL! that was one of the FIRST things I thought as the first 10 minutes of film rolled by, was "hey, I'm NOT a pedophile after all!" Well..how old was Ashitaka? Whatever, he was too dark and tormented, while Howl's all 'I'm a coward and weird shit happens to me, but I don't care!'

Wow!
That's probely the first thing to come out of mouth when I saw this. This is impressive, I have yet to draw Howl in bird form. Having seen the movie already, I believe the English dub will be good. So for now, I'll just tide over my Japanese copy.^^

danke so much!
Im going to see it again for the SOLE purpose of the one scene when Sophie's dreaming about being in the cave with Howl and he's this fucked up monster creature half hidden by darkness and feathers because I want to draw that soooo bad. *takes deep breath*
You're so lucky to have a copy on hand! If you draw any Howl-ness, you should put it into ~HMCC so I can goosh over it

As for fan art, i have some posted in the HMCC already, as well as a few music videos in my gallery for viewing.^^

I was so obsessed with wings when looking at the ads. You NEED to see it, he's such a different protagonist than Miyazaki's others; you can actually like him and not be turned off by his tormented soul.

Danke! And this movie is just..so cool, there's no less-stupid way for me to describe it! I really can't wait for it to come out on DVD either, so I can watch it ovah and ovah and ovah..
(I was talking with my friends online about my dilemma of what theater to see it in, because there's 3 near me, and they yelled at me because I didn't know it was in select cities, I thought it was just in a particular theater chain.)
I think your kids will like it, there's no true bad guy (like in all his movies) which I think is a really interesting take in movies or books beacuse it makes you think. *prattles on a LOT*
