Of course when Aku was born he didn't have a pokémon yet, but he didn't care much since he could destroy the emperor's city by himself anyway. Plus he doesn't care much about the rules of pokémon fighting : he'll just attack pokémon and humans alike if he wants to. Maybe people even assumed he was some previously unknown legendary dark/fire type pokémon himself, but truth is since he doesn't come from Earth (and assuming Earth is the only world that have pokémon), he technically isn't. He probably doesn't appreciate being called a pokémon either. I wouldn't be surprised if he forbade it.
Young Jack was given a Riolu by his parents a few days before Aku returned. Said Riolu trained with him all over the world and evolved into a Lucario along the way. Since Aku doesn't follow the rules and will attack team and trainer alike, both must learn how to fight Aku (maybe the Lucario would therefore need his own magical weapon too?).
Meanwhile, Aku still doesn't bond with any pokémon ; when Jack and Lucario fight him for the first time he still doesn't have any so they assumed he was incapable of bounding with one.
However, it's only some time after being sent to the future that they find out Aku did adapt to Earth at some point and got some pokémon to fight along his robot army. I originally thought they'd find that out during the whole Ikra thing since "she" would have a team of her own, but wouldn't Lucario's ability to sense auras render Aku's disguise useless?

Hmmmm maybe lucario's ability is limited to pokemon? Or maybe he can be a special lucario with a hidden ability (not sure if you still play pkmn but many of them have alternate abilities you can get not sure if lucario has one?)
But I like it! This could totally be a freaking awesome super action packed mega mash up pokemon game for real though! It would go DELICIOUSLY with my dream pkmn game where you can control the pkmn manually instead of it being turn based! And it can take a strategic approach with the extra d pad when there's an aku battle where u can use the left circle pad to control jack n the other to do lucario AND make it an even more epic game where you can also play as aku! So it'd be one of those super long plot twisty stories Oooo man I need to stop hah XD
I'm certain that aku would definitely use pkmn as tools of war though :3 maybe even shape shift as them too (especially if this is a pkmn world we are talking about where there really aren't animals to mimic XD)
And for the lucario thing needing a weapon I think it's aura attack is like soul energy and if it's pure enough it could hurt aku? Since the sword was forged from the righteousness of man or something like that XD

Maybe Lucario would need to go through a special training to make its soul energy thing is powerful enough to hurt Aku? Also, since this is a pokémon who can mega-evolve, maybe it needs to be mega-evolved to be able to really hurt Aku. So Jack's sword and Lucario's mega gemme would be equally important. And part of Jack's and Lucario's training in the past would be their journey to acquire the mega ring & mega gemme and figure out how to use them.
And if Aku can morph into a rat in canon, he can morph into a rattata, no problems! xD
And in the pokémon games Lucarios can sense their trainers' auras, right? So it's not limited to other pokémons. Actually, there are clues here and there that pokémon moves and abilities can affect humans and some humans can use some pokémon moves (for example each generation has a psychic class of trainers that are always seen using telekinesis on pokéballs). If Aku didn't have an aura or his aura couldn't be sensed by Lucario, I guess it would be because since he's "not from the human world" as the gods put it (wouldn't the gods be legendary pokémons by the way?), there are certain rules of this world that don't apply to him. After all, in canon he constantly defies the laws of physics simply by existing. But if he's the only being not to have an aura Lucario can sense (my guess is Aku does have some kind of aura, but it's so different from anything else on Earth that Lucario's brain can't comprehend it/doesn't register it as an aura. You know, kinda like if you had a creature with green or blue blood and asked someone to take a blood sample from it for a test and they'd reply "I can't find any red liquid in that creature : it doesn't have any blood!" ; the creature actually does have blood but the person didn't register it as blood because it didn't fit the definition of blood that they're used to. 'Hope that makes sense), his disguises would still be useless, wouldn't they?
However, if aliens from other worlds also can't be sensed by Lucario because their auras are too different from earthlings', the whole Ikra thing could still work, especially given how early it happens in the series! I'm pretty sure canon Jack also assumed she was an alien because of her green skin anyway.
However, after some time spent in the future world, Lucario would have to develop its aura-sensing abilities to be able to sense aliens' auras too. Let's say that, by the time we get to the episode with the hermit, it's not a problem anymore.

Maybe lucario can sense it but In trusting it's trainers sense doesnt say anything? Having a strong bond with jack would put lucario in a place where he trusts Jack's judgement and assumes he knows too?

That also could be a possibility, but then to what extent can he alter it? If one's aura is influenced by how good or evil they are, altering it too much might be impossible even for Aku.

If at first Lucario cannot recognise aliens' (and Aku's) auras, Aku wouldn't need to alter it. However, he could find out at the end of the whole hermit thing that it now has gotten used to the strange auras (since there are so many of these in the future) and therefore has learned to read them as well. So if Aku wants to fool them again, he would need to alter his aura at least just enough to be mistaken for another evil being.

If Aku could pull it off, Lucario still wouldn't trust him but at least it wouldn't mega-evolve right away, and we already said it would need to while fighting Aku. If Lucario mega-evolves only when fighting Aku, each mega-evolution would be a big event. ^^ Maybe there also could be a couple of other occasions when it would be necessary, like when fighting the blue guardian.

Of course. Most bad guys can be taken down without Lucario mega-evolving anyway. Plus, it's said in X/Y that mega-evolution gives off lots of energy : I wouldn't be surprised if the technology of the future allowed anyone with the right equipment to trace it down from a very long distance.

Aku can find Jack regardless, but other people (such as bounty hunters) could find him by tracking the energy released whenever Lucario mega-evolves. That's why they'll use the mega gem & mega ring only when they really need to.
And trying to gross Aku out probably never crossed Jack's mind...

Nah jack is too... Traditional? He seems slightly prudish too? Plus I'm sure a freaking shape shifting demon who sits on a throne near the edge of the pit of hate (which I'm 98% sure is hell) wouldn't easily be grossed out XD

"Pit of hate" totally sounds like something you'd say to avoid using the word "hell" in a kids' show. ^^
Of course there are other mega stones, that's why the technology to detect mega-evolutions from a distance exists in that AU. Other wanted outlaws might also have pokémon able to mega-evolve. Actually, what if Aku made mega-evolution illegal in his world? That would make anyone who uses it an outlaw.

Either there were no resources that interested him personally or he did destroy those places in the past but nature has had time to grow back and people have had time to rebuild a village or two. Both scenarii could work depending on the place.

Yeah and then again aku's greed probably has it to where he's making enough profit where he doesn't really care anymore... Most of the episodes he's just chillin on his throne watching jack, ordering pizza (or monsters to kill jack I'm still confused about that), or fuming about jacks victories while trying to come up with different ways to destroy him XD
