WINNER!First of all, thank you all so much for entering! Everyone wrote such awesome entries -- you guys really made judging difficult for me!! :^) But in the end I had to choose one, and I don't want to keep you waiting any longer than you already have, sooo...

EDIT 6/28/17: Extended the deadline! Found out I'm going to be traveling during the original deadline. If I'm not here to judge pieces, it wouldn't be fair to halt entries! SO: new deadline is Friday, July 7th at 11:59pm! I'll announce winners that weekend -- most likely the 8th. To those of you who've already entered, sorry for the wait!! It's killing me, too! Trying something new with this guy -- a WTA! This is a writing competition -- in order to try to win this character, you must write a story!
Write a short fiction piece (at least 200 words) including the character! This can be a Literature deviation, a sta.sh file, or a journal -- I don't mind, as long as you leave a link to it in the comments! Here's some plot ideas to get you started. You don't have to follow these prompts -- they're just to give you some ideas!
- The character has a massive crush on a Clanmate! Do they play it cool? Are they super awkward? Do they confess their feelings? How do they handle those mushy-gushy feelings?
- There's been a huge flood, and the Clan had to evacuate their camp! This character is sent on a patrol to see if the water's gone down enough for them to return home.
- Apprenticeship is hard, but this character never realized how hard being a mentor is! They're teaching for the first time... How does it go?
This competition will be open until July 7th. At this point I will no longer accept new entries. I'll get through all the entries and announce the winner within the next two days! Writing skill will be a factor in judging, but mostly I'm just looking for good, strong characterization of this little guy!

Being new to neighborhood has been quite, intimidating, to say the least. But, to Connie it was all just a new adventure. Four new apprentices lay crammed in their dens, their pelts rising and falling with the light comfort of slumber. The silence was broken as Monty groaned in his sleep, his limbs flailing with fear as if he was attacking an enemy. Underneath his closed eyes he was being swarmed by hundreds of canines. He parted his jaws to attempt to recognize any of the smells, but a rank stench of bile met his nose instead. He stumbled backwards, but a dark wolf growled at him and shoved him back where he came. Letting out a yawn, Hazelkit opened her tired eyes to see her siblings, Finchkit and Hollykit practically bursting with excitement.
“Hurry up Hazelkit! I wanna see the camp covered in that snow thingy!”Hollykit whined, Shaking out her long silver tabby fur as if she was covered in water. “I'm coming, I'm coming.”As she muttered the words under her breath, Gingerkit laughed at her frustration,
