Wow, this one is great!

I mean, it's also really difficult I think I need to give my eyes a rest now that I've been looking at it for a while.Β

I get the swirling feeling when I move. Staring at it while completely still there's so much tension where the lines get close together.Β

The center is oddly tranquil.

Really excellent one!

you're right, there is a lot of tension there. Β imagine working on it for hours...

How did you manage to not go crazy? @_@Β

I guess dialing down the contrast would help if that's an option. I've never used the software for this kind of thing.

admittedly, i have to give my eyes breaks while working on stuff like this.

Whoa, these ones are hard to look at -- but in a good way! Very amusing.

thanks, glad you are amused.

One wonders what this would look like when one is drunk....

I'll have to try it....

This is one of those that because the black lines are so close together, it almost seems to have color in it! Good optical illusions and bending the light coming out of the fractal.

thanks. there is actually color in this one, but it's very subtle...

agreed, it's classic op art but at a resolution i doubt could be done by hand, at least not that accurately.

that's one of the best op art stills i've seen. what fractal set produces these?

thanks! i've been sort of stumbling into them here and there using gnarl formulas with various coloring algorithms. this one was using "Courbes ++ with automask" in mde.ucl (that's in UltraFractal, if you use it). i should probably get the technique down and write a tutorial for it...

cool, and i haven't personally used any fractal generators for decades, i didn't even know until recently they could produce results like this. very well done, and if you ever write a tutorial it might inspire me to learn ultrafractal.
