Here is my version of the fan art godzilla 2017 or Spirit Goji as i like to call him.Βkinda bums me out that this wasn't the official design of the anime Godzilla but o well, its still badass and the artist that made this guy did an amazing job. love the combination of Godzilla's design put into it and as well as the awesome coloration of transparent blues.

Looks to me like everyone and their brothers thought this thing had some sort of design conception from Shin, but your back plates remind me of MireGoji (Millenium/2000 Godzilla).

yeah that why i went with this design choice, just to mix thing up a bit, also based on that leaked image why got way back in early 2016.

It's a pretty interesting take on Godzilla, fan art or not. Personally, I think it's a bit too big for my tastes (since I prefer smaller kaiju in the 200 feet range, if not a little bigger), but it's not a bad design concept.
Anyhow, this is some awesome work with this piece, my friend! I won't let my personal feelings cloud my judgement for great kaiju artwork.

You're welcome, my friend. Yeah, you can do so much more with smaller kaiju than the extra big ones. It's a ok design, but I'm still a bit meh on it.

It depends on the story. People always assume that a kaiju has to be some extremely versatile character, forgetting the fact that kaiju are story tools with many purposes. A gigantic kaiju of this size could be perfect for a story which emphasizes the creature as a huge, otherworldly force, even a walking event. I dislike the narrow-mindedness of the common kaiju fan story. Stories can come in so many varieties and break or ignore so many conventions for the sake of a really creative experience.
Consider Lovecraft's stories. The average person thinks that Cthulhu is some kind of powerful kaiju overlord evil villain, but he's not. He appears only briefly in Lovecraft's story, and even then the purpose was to express feelings of smallness in comparison to the vast mysteries of the cosmos. The purpose was not to show off a random giant monster. Monsters can mean so many things to a story, a fact which people sometimes forget.

I just like smaller kaiju because that's what i grew up with, watching the Showa era and millennium era and the original Ultraman, with there kaiju ranging from 25 to 60 meters. i didn't get into the heisei era or final wars but im not going into that. but to me, these days there just making kaiju big just to be big, there's no plot or story around why there so big. a good example is the legendary and shin godzilla, with legendary they made him the biggest godzilla to exist and then Toho turns around and makes shin godzilla bigger than 2014, that way there way there godzilla is the largest it just get ridiculous after a while and i hope they don't do that with the anime godzilla. now with that i think the anime godzilla should have a good middle ground height, like around 70 to 80 meters that way he's not to big and he's not to small.Β

Well, it's more about perception than anything. I mean, with my kaiju character Monsturra, I have him interact with my human characters more, so the smaller height (200 feet) fits better with him. Of course, if you want a normal city smashing kaiju, than the larger size doesn't hurt. It is just about how you want to view this fiction more than anything.
