Before the two young foals even knew it, blistering fire engulfed the forest around them. Never in their fragile lives had Heart or Rhythm experienced a terrifying event until now. The two foals ran for their lives, barely missing from getting hit by the falling burning tree limbs and debris. Forest animals around them cry out and scurry for their lives whilst the foals call for their mothers to no avail. The way back to their herd had now been twisted and skewed from the raging blaze. In their panic the foals mistook a fellow horse to be their lead stallion, but it was a complete stranger who was also trying to escape the heat. The stranger barely even paid attention to them as he cared more for his own sake then theirs. As the stallion gallops away, Rhythm makes the quick decision and calls for Heart to follow as they both chase behind the stranger. Surely the more experienced adult would know a better way out of this wildfire. Despite their efforts, their tiny bodies couldn't keep up with the speed and stamina of the stranger. They were left in dust and falling ashes to find their own way out of this nightmare. Lost, with no sound or hint of their herd around to save them, the chance for surviving the night is almost impossible. Heart couldn't bare the intensity she was feeling and began to break down and cry, tired of running and terrified for her life. Hearing this behind him, Rhythm looks back at their friend and can't stop himself from crying with her. Then with a shaky voice, Rhythm encourages Heart that they keep going, despite how scared and tired they are. If the foals were to stay where they were then they would surely perish. So with a breath of unsurety and fear, Heart and Rhythm collect themselves and press onward, into the horrid night as the forest cries out with them.
