Yeah, both systems have their up- and down-sides.
The trouble I have is less with the OS, and rather more with the hardware. I've been tricked by Staples/Business Depot employees into buying Toshiba Satellite laptops 4 times over the past 6 years, each of which died one way or another within a year and a half of purchase: that leaves a bad taste in my mouth towards Toshiba products (plus, the Toshiba tech support outlet I went to screwed me over for several hundred dollars in "fixing" a hard drive that didn't need fixing), and a lingering distrust of laptops.
