Description
Take 2 on the smoke shooting! This time with better lighting and my new lens. This will likely be a series since I got a few shots I really like. I had a lot of fun with this.Part II: [link]

Here's a pretty bad snapshot of my setup, but it gives a general idea. [link] The dive light is out of frame to the upper left (the halogen is basically pointing directly at it.) Cheap, simple setup that works decently.
1 Mosquito Repellent Coil; used for smoke.
1 100w 1500lumen halogen bulb w/aluminum snoot - right side.
1 divers spotlight; 250lumen Xenon bulb - 45d down, upper left.

Thanks! I had so much fun with this. Next time I'm going to try putting colour filters in front of the lights and see about getting some colourful smoke

You don't need to smoke to make a photo like this, I used a mosquito coil... you can use incense or anything else that puts out a steady stream of smoke

The strange thing about smoke is while its incredibly dangerous (says the pathological chain smoker) it can look absolutely beautiful. Something you've managed to achieve with this shot.

Danger! I would have used a clove cigarette, but ironically, I was smoking while shooting smoke.

I don't blame you, sometimes If I happen to be listening to music and need some time to chill out after a long day I sit in a comfy chair and just watch the smoke spiral through the room as I enjoy a long puff.
