Thanks! This was done in 3ds Max 5, as mentioned in the discrip
I think I also used the FinalRender plugin as the render engine in max, rather then the default engine.

It just takes some practice there are plenty of free tutorials for it all over the net, keep working at it and you'll get it

Hi There!
You have just earned yourself an O.D.D.(^oibyrd 's daily devs) feature! congrats!!!
!
O.D.D.S are to honor the sometimes overlooked artists of dA that I personally think deserve some exposure and also, to introduce the more popular artists to the new/overlooked deviants. I prefer to showcase ALL artwork that I love (and that includes popular artists with a fair amount of traffic to their work) in order to create a non-biased feature of the talent on dA. *PLZ DO KEEP IN MIND - some of the features are quite popular and obviously don't need extra help - however - I enjoy posting them because they inspire other artists. Please click the link below to see your work featured and to view other featured artists . If you prefer not to be a featured artist, just send me a note and I will remove you from the list. Cheers! Sandi xoxo

Looks great.
It almost looks like jewelry.
That would be a cool project, metallic bugs so cool looking people would want to wear them.
Get Tyra Banks to wear tick earrings or Kate moss wearing the roach pendant.
Like the extra detail on its back.
Have you tried placing this model on a dark suede like floor?

Bug jewelry would be sweet. People wear scarabs, and butterflies, some more "sinister" bugs would be fun indeed
The model is textured with glass that has a metalic sheen (all the bugs so far are some form of glass I made) as such, it is heavily dependant on the enviornment and model thickness. In this case, the white enviornment and the thick body of the model really make the metalic part of the glass stand out. I don't think that would be the case in a darker, more textured enviornment however, I'd have to retexture it for that
Thanks for the comment!
