"Without warning, the Dragonling spewed forth a jet of flame, the fire quickly surrounding the human. The Aspirant cried out in pain as he burned, his skin welts and blisters under the intense heat. For a moment, the Aspirant felt only anguish, as he thought the Dragon God judged him unworthy. The magical flame seemed to burn not only outward, but inward as well, the heat suffusing into his flesh and bone, growing hotter as it reaches his core.

Soon, the heat grew to eclipse the pain, the Aspirant felt as if his soul itself was set ablaze. The fire burned away his doubts and fears, purging away any weakness of his former self. His bones felt like molten steel, and his heart an erupting volcano, spewing forth hot, draconic blood through his veins. His skin burns and cracks, both from the heat and his enlarging form.

The Aspirant can feel his flesh and bones flowing outward into a new mold, his old human skin now a remnant of his past self. As scales, snouts and claws take form, the old skin began to feel itchy and constricting. Making use of his new claws, the Aspirant easily tore apart the burning layer, and his new flesh grew outwards unrestrained.

Artist's Note:

As a lizard (dragonoid), it makes sense that they grow through molting. Just add some fire for the dragon flavour. It's just that its seriously hard to draw torn skin + burning skin, so it's a bit messy in the last two panel.

Doing the human to dragonoid part first, next would be the mtf part.
