It's not a bat! It's a rabbit, with fwuffy 'lil ears and a fuzzy little coat!
...and bat wings and a lack of a fluffy tail.

It's easy to tell the bunny-eared bat isn't actually a bunny. A bunny when looking down the hole would instead say "You fell in a hole. That was silly of you. If you were going to fall into a hole, you should have picked a hole full of candy!"
